Mitch Mcconnell Confronted by Protesters Asking: 'where Are the Babies?'
Protesters confronted Senate Bulk Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) every bit a left a eating place in Louisville, Kentucky Saturday. Protesters demanded answers on the Trump administration'southward immigration policy of forcibly separating families crossing the U.Due south. edge.
In a video shared with Courier Journal, someone tin can be heard request McConnell, "Where are the children? Where are the babies, Mitch?" Another asks, "What are you doing to get the babies back?"

McConnell was getting lunch with Kentucky's outgoing Firm Bulk Flooring Leader Jonathan Shell (R), the Courier Periodical reported. Beat out — who voted to cutting teachers' pensions and and so lost the May primary to a math teacher — called the protesters "a small group of extremists."

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) has never called for violence, just has urged the public to peacefully and publicly confront members of the Trump assistants. Since encouraging protests, she has received several threats and been forced to cancel appearances.
Last month, McConnell claimed that all Republican senators supported ending the Trump assistants's policy of family separation, despite the fact that none of them had signed on to existing legislation that would have ended it. Since so, the Trump administration has swapped its policy of family separation for indefinite family detention. In the meantime, almost separated families take not been reunited.
Nearly two weeks ago, a federal judge ruled that the Trump administration must reunite all migrant families information technology separated by July 26. Concluding month, a grouping of protesters in Washington, D.C. confronted the senator and his wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, as they left a dinner at Georgetown University. "Why are yous separating families?" one person demanded to know, while another asked McConnell, "How does he slumber at nighttime?" A security guard pushed one of them away.
As well on Saturday, a woman approached former White Business firm Chief Strategist Steve Bannon at a bookstore in Richmond, Virginia and chosen him a "piece of trash." The bookstore owner called 911, and the woman left the shop.
